The 183 train
November 7th, 2008
Trev sent me this picture, of a K183 steam locomotive.

Here’s his description:
About an hour and a half east of Melbourne in the small town of Yarragon is a steam locomotive in the park, driven past it heaps of times but have just noticed its engine number K183…
K class steam engines were not designed for high speed Passenger trains although they could do it if the need arrived, mostly they were used as general purpose locos….
so no need to hurry with your project as like the K class engine given time the job will be done
Although I am occasionally concerned that I won’t finish Project 183 in time, perhaps I should take a leaf out of the book of the K183, and be the tortoise, rather than the hare!
Thanks Trev, for both the image and the tip.
The threat of 183

Our home computer is slowing wearing out and seems to be getting affected by all number of viruses…
…183 to be exact. D’oh! At least I took a screen print to take advantage of the occasion.

My collection of 183s
May 7th, 2008
Just for something fun, I think I might put up from time to time some pictures of the number 183 I see out there in the wide world.
Here is one from my recent trip to Bali. Slightly manufactured in nature, as I put the table 18 and table 3 signs together. Devilishly clever some might say.

If you happen to see the number 183 out and about, I would love to see some happy snaps of it.
Parsley 183
February 26th, 2008
Just noticed that Safeway has started doing some subtle promotion of Project 183, judging by the price of parsley at our local store.
If you see any other examples of 183 out there, please send them through.
