Nat and I just got back from a 5 day adventure to Morocco (which we both highly recommend if you get the chance).
Among the fun of the holiday was the chance to venture through Djemma El Fna, which is the main square of the old part of Marrakech, and which contains (among other things) snake charmers.
So here I am, with a snake around my neck, and a cobra in the face (Nat wasn’t too keen on getting one close to her though).
To be completely honest, the snakes weren’t the scary bit. It was the five snake charmers who gathered around me about thirty seconds after the photos were taken, all demanding money.
Actually, the cobra was kind of scary too.

oh my god. your sooooo brave! i would never do things like that. haven´t you been afraid of these ugly dangerous snakes? that gives me the heebie-jeebies…

God these looks scary, but I’m sure its fun too at the same time. Even one of friend went to Cairo where she holded a baby crocodile in her hand and ya snakes around her neck.
Really weird but she is a animal fanatic so she can do almost anything
Nat I can totally understand you scariness. Especially after seeing that cobra!! lol

Whoa, I would not have gotten close to the Cobra!
I went with my sister to a fair when her children were young and someone had a big boa constrictor there for the children to look at.
I have a snake phobia, but not real bad to the point I scream or run. The boys were beside me and the owner laid that snake down in my lap.
I worked hard at remaining calm, as I did not want to instill a snake phobia in my nephews. But boy it was hard as that thing slithered accross my lap.

Wow that is why closer to a snake, especially a poisonous one, than I have the courage for. Snakes are one thing that I will quickly walk away from when I see even if it is a little one. You are a brave man to get that close to the snake and even braver to get close to the snake charmers because your right most of them are pretty creepy looking.

A cobra is one an extremely deadly and agressive snake. Obviously you are sitting with one, and they work with them, but I don’t know, I would be pretty nervous.

Goal 120, have a cobra held next to my head! But seriously, I admire the Jedi like calm you are exhibiting with the cobra. My Mom is so afraid of snakes she won’t stay in the same room with a picture of one. This blog post would totally disturb her.
