What is Project 183?

August 10th, 2007

My name is Heath and I am from Melbourne, Australia (although I am currently living in London). In March 2007, I found out about a trend of people setting themselves 101 goals to complete in 1001 days. This sounded like fun, but I thought I would take it to the next level – complete 183 goals before I turn 30, on March 10, 2013. I chose 183 because it was a little different, and because I was born in 1983.

The challenge started on April 1, 2007 meaning there is 2,170 days to complete these 183 goals, or in other words one every 12 or so days.If you would like to stay up to date with my progress, you can subscribe to the RSS feed, subscribe to the email service to receive all new posts by email, or just pop in and visit the website every few days. And I am looking for people to help me in my quest.

If you are interested, have a look at this or even this.

Thanks for visiting, and wish me luck as I travel down 183 Street!

    Hey heath!

Looks cool – i too have a list of things to achieve before I’m 30 but it’s a bit more informal!

Well done on getting your L’s etc. I’m keen to see a list of your 183 – maybe with the one’s you’ve done in another colour. I can’t see an obvious one on the site.

Maybe if you publish the list with the MX exposure other sponsors can jump on board for future endeavours. Just s suggestion.

    Good luck, Cheers
    Linda

    Hi Heath
You mentioned you needed one more goal and asked for suggestions – how about milking a herd of cows at 5am? I can put you in contact with a farm that is only 1 hour from melbourne. Not everyone can say they have done this!!!

  5. Heath Says:

    Hi Linda,

You can find the list of goals in the menu on the right hand site of this site, called ‘The 183 goals’.

The ones that have been done have a link next to them saying Done. If you click on Done, you can read about the challenge.

And Jo, I will definitely take you up on the offer of cow milking. Sounds like fun.

I love the Project 183 concept. I love how it’s all about stepping out of your comfort zone and learning new things. Heath, you’ve inspired us all to push the boundaries and set goals – big, small or silly. Most of all, you’ve inspired us to embrace life (more than ever). Well done!

  7. Sarah Johnson Says:

    Hi Heath,
I read about you and project 183 in the Sunday Mail (Lainie Anderson’s column), which has inspired a goals-based theme for an e-newsletter I contribute to. We’d like to feature your project, so could you please email me to set up a time for a chat?
    Thanks,
    Sarah

    Hi Heath
I heard about your project whilst I was on holiday travelling interstate. I thought that I would look up your site when I returned home and that I might incorporate some of your ideas in a speech for Toastmasters.
    Good idea. Good luck.
    Regards
    Frances
